Hardened Quantitative Filter Paper, Very Fast, for Coarse Precipitates
Open-pore quantitative filter paper designed for fast throughput. Intended for gravimetric analysis involving coarse precipitates that demand both speed and mechanical strength.
Compatible Precipitates
Suitable for iron, aluminium and copper hydroxides, and copper, cobalt and iron sulphides. Handles precipitates that would rapidly blind a medium-pore grade.
Specifications
- Type: Hardened quantitative
- Filtration rate: Very fast
- Texture: Smooth
- Bulk density: High — supports heavy precipitate loading
- Mechanical resistance: Hardened; withstands wet handling
Applications
Gravimetric analysis in analytical chemistry, quality control and environmental laboratories. Use where the precipitate is too coarse for medium or fine retention grades.
Advantages of the Hardened Treatment
Hardening reduces the risk of tearing when removing the precipitate or transferring it to a crucible. With heavy precipitates — metallic hydroxides in particular — a standard grade may fail under load. This one does not.
