Soxhlet Extraction Body Borosilicate Glass LBG 3.3

Central component of the Soxhlet extractor, manufactured in borosilicate glass LBG 3.3. Houses the thimble and sample, accumulates condensed solvent until the return siphon discharges it back into the flask below. Designed for continuous cycling with organic solvents at reflux temperature.

Applications

Continuous solid–liquid extraction by the Soxhlet method — determination of fats, oils, waxes and other extractable components in solid samples. Routinely used in food analysis, quality control, environmental and organic chemistry laboratories.

Also used as a direct replacement when the body breaks, without the need to replace the flask or condenser if those components remain serviceable.

Assembly

Fits between the lower round-bottom flask and the upper condenser via normalised ground glass joints. The loaded thimble is placed directly into the body before closing the assembly.
