Bacteriological tryptone produced by enzymatic digestion of casein. Homogeneous, beige powder — free-flowing and obstruction-free. Total nitrogen ≥ 10% and amino nitrogen ≥ 3.9% on a dry basis, ensuring consistent nitrogen supply in culture media. pH at 2% in water: 6.5–7.5. Ash residue ≤ 15%, loss on drying ≤ 6%. Tryptophan positive; reducing sugars and nitrites negative. Plate count ≤ 5000 cfu, moulds and yeasts ≤ 100 cfu. Store between 2 ºC and 25 ºC; once opened, protect from moisture.

Typical Applications
